Children between 0-3 years old do not require a seat reservation. The child can travel for free on an adult's lap. However, if you want to reserve a seat for the child, the child must have an Interrail Pass. Similarly, if you are taking a night train, the child must have an Interrail Pass to have their own bed.
Children between 4-11 years old must have a seat reservation and an Interrail Pass. Child passes are free of charge but must be purchased together with an adult pass. Seat reservations must be purchased separately, and the price for seat tickets is the same regardless of age.
