The main difference between first and second class is comfort: First-class seats often offer more comfort and extra legroom. In some countries, you may also have access to the lounge at the train station when traveling in first class.
If you have a first-class Interrail Pass, you can travel in both first and second class.
If you have a second-class Interrail Pass, you can only travel in second class.
