Activation
Activation of your Interrail Pass means registering the pass in your name. This is done by filling in your traveler details and your Pass Cover Number. It is also during this process that you can decide when your pass should start to be valid. If you are not ready to choose a start date immediately, you can return to that step later. Remember that the pass must be activated before starting your first journey.
Start Date
The start date of your Interrail Pass is the date when the pass becomes active, and you can start using it. For example, if you plan to start your trip on September 5th, that is the date you should enter as the start date for your pass. This date marks the beginning of the period when your pass is valid. If you have purchased a Flexi Pass, your first travel day is counted from the start date. If you have purchased a Continuous Pass, your travel period begins on the specified start date. Therefore, it is important to carefully consider which date best suits your travel plan so that you can maximize the use of your Interrail Pass.
Validity Period
Your Interrail Pass has two validity periods. The first validity period is for the activation of the pass. You must activate your pass within 11 months from the purchase date.
The second validity period depends on the type of pass you have purchased. For example, if you have purchased a pass with 4 travel days within 1 month, the validity period of the pass is one month from your first travel day.
